Submission of Employers’ Returns: February 1, 2007
The Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) is reminding employers that employers’ returns, commonly known as “Form 11” for the year 2006 are due on or before February 28, 2007.

The returns should be done in triplicate copies where two copies, the original and duplicate, must be submitted to GRA. The triplicate copy of Form 11 is to be retained by the employer. This will aid the employer when preparing the employees’ Income Tax return and emolument statements.

The submission of Form 11 must be accompanied by a declaration form and a summary form. These forms must be signed by the company’s accountant, the person preparing the return, or someone in authority.

The Form 11 must carry some basic information such as the name of the employee, his/her address and the months in the year they were employed. The GRA is asking that special attention is given when recording the months of employment since this may vary from employee to employee and is essential for GRA’s records, especially for refund purposes.

Also, employers are reminded to number all sheets of the return in a sequential order and place the employers’ stamp on each sheet of the return and not only on the covering sheet.

The GRA is encouraging employers to submit their return on or before the deadline.
